Limo Service NYC Pricing: What You Pay and Why
No surge. No meter. No surprise line items after the ride. JetBlack prices by mileage, quotes your total in writing before you book, and starts from $44 for short trips. Here is the whole system, including the parts most companies leave off the page.
Flight tracking included · Fixed quote in writing · 24/7 dispatch

How JetBlack pricing works: mileage first
Every JetBlack fare starts with distance. Fares are mileage-based, which is why a short hop and a long haul never cost the same — and why your quote can be exact before the car moves.
The network starting price is $44. That figure covers short trips, the kind of ride that runs a few miles across Queens or between nearby airports — JFK to Jamaica, or JFK to LaGuardia Airport (LGA), are the classic examples. Longer trips scale with the miles. The ride New Yorkers ask about most, JFK to Manhattan in an economy sedan, is a $65 fixed route fare. It is not a teaser and it does not get corrected down to $44: $44 is the floor for the shortest work, $65 is the fare for that specific 16-mile route.
Hourly bookings, such as a chauffeur who stays with you for an evening or a stretch limousine held for a wedding, are quoted by vehicle type and hours. Either way, the method is identical: you send the trip, we return a written total, and that total is your price. Rain, traffic, and a sold-out arena letting out at the same time do not change it. JetBlack has run this way since 2010.

Two worked examples, with real numbers
Concrete beats vague. Here is what the mileage system produces on the routes clients price most.
| Trip | Vehicle | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Short trip, e.g. JFK to Jamaica | Economy sedan | From $44 — network starting price |
| JFK to Manhattan | Economy sedan | $65 fixed route fare |
| JFK to Manhattan, yellow cab for comparison | Taxi | $70 flat fare, $76.75 with standard surcharges before tolls and tip; $81.75 in weekday 4–8 PM rush |
| Any other route | Your choice of vehicle | Mileage-based quote, confirmed in writing before you book |
Both JetBlack figures exclude tolls and gratuity, which your written quote lists as separate lines. The taxi figure comes from the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission fare schedule.
Notice what is missing from the JetBlack column: a range that doubles at the end. If a service can only tell you a ride costs somewhere between one number and twice that number, it has not priced your ride yet. Get the written quote first, from us or anyone else, and compare totals to totals.
What is included, and what is not
The honest page. Every line below appears on your written quote, so this table and your invoice should never tell different stories.
| Item | Included or extra |
|---|---|
| Flight tracking on airport rides | Included — dispatch times your car to your actual arrival |
| No surge pricing | Included as policy — your quoted fare never rises with demand |
| Free cancellation before confirmation | Included — no charge |
| Cancellation after confirmation | $31 total ($25 + $5 + $1) |
| Free wait time | Included, amount varies by vehicle type; extra wait bills at the vehicle’s hourly rate |
| Delayed pickup | You may delay pickup up to 1 hour; it stacks with free wait for up to 2 hours free after actual arrival |
| Gratuity | Not included — 20% suggested |
| Tolls | Not folded into the fare — shown as a separate line on your quote |
| Meet and greet at the airport | Paid extra — default pickup is express curbside |
If a quote from any company leaves gratuity, tolls, or cancellation terms blank, ask before you book. Those three lines are where cheap quotes get expensive.
One more policy worth knowing before you need it: flight-detail changes are yours to pass along. If your airline or flight number changes, tell us, and tracking follows the new flight. If we never hear about the change, dispatch keeps watching the original flight — and the consequences of that gap sit with the booking, which is why the confirmation asks you to keep us posted.
Vehicle choice is the other half of the price
Same miles, different car, different fare. Match the vehicle to the trip and you stop paying for empty seats.
Sedans
Economy, luxury, and premium tiers. Economy carries the $44 starting price and the $65 JFK to Manhattan route fare.
SUVs and vans
Priced above sedans on the same mileage. Worth it when passengers, bags, or weather outgrow a sedan.
Sprinter, stretch, and buses
Quoted by vehicle and trip or hours. See the full fleet with photos, counts, and luggage room.

Quote said one number, card was charged that number. The gratuity and tolls were lines on the quote, not surprises.

Compared three services for a wedding stretch. JetBlack was the only written, all-in quote I got back.

JFK to Manhattan was $65, exactly as the page said. Driver tracked our flight too.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a limo service in NYC cost?
It depends on mileage and vehicle, and your exact total is always quoted in writing before you book. JetBlack fares start from $44 for short trips such as JFK to Jamaica. The JFK to Manhattan economy sedan route fare is $65. Longer routes, larger vehicles, and hourly chauffeur or stretch limousine bookings price higher on the same mileage-based system — request a quote for a firm number.
Is gratuity included in JetBlack prices?
No. Gratuity is not included, and 20% is suggested. Your written quote shows the gratuity as its own line so you can see the full cost of the trip before you confirm, instead of doing mental math at the curb.
What does cancellation cost?
Cancellation is free before your booking is confirmed. After confirmation, cancellation costs $31 total, which is $25 plus $5 plus $1. The term is printed in your confirmation, and it is the same policy described on this page.
Does JetBlack charge surge pricing?
No, never. Your fare is fixed in writing when you book. Demand, weather, and traffic do not change it afterward. That is the central difference between a quoted car service and a rideshare app at rush hour.
How does wait time pricing work?
Every vehicle includes free wait time, and the amount varies by vehicle type. Beyond the free window, wait is billed at that vehicle’s hourly rate. You can also delay your pickup by up to 1 hour, and the delay stacks with the free wait, giving you up to 2 hours of free waiting after an actual arrival.
Are tolls included in the quoted fare?
Tolls are not folded into the fare. They appear as a separate line on your written quote, calculated for your route, so the total you approve already accounts for them. Nothing about tolls is estimated after the ride.
